It’s easy to say, “Well, this is good, but it doesn’t even come close to the amazing paella I had in Sevilla,” or “This pasta is good, but it’s nothing like the incredible pasta in Italy.” You get the point. Chances are, however, few people are going to come to The Helmand and expound on their know-it-all, first-hand experience of Afghan cuisine. But after a meal here, you might find yourself, when dining again at a different Afghani restaurant, saying, “Well, it’s good, but it’s not like they make it at The Helmand.”
