The days leading up to the Chinese New Year are spent cleaning houses and preparing homes for the upcoming celebration. Many people believe that cleaning your home "sweeps away the bad luck" to prepare your home for the incoming good luck of the New Year. The most impressive and cultural display is the Lion Dance Parade; the Parade travels between all of the businesses in Chinatown and is thought to bring them luck and fortune in the New Year. All you have to do is hang out in the Chinatown around the New Year and you will certainly run into dancers in lion costumes and music.
