After the B’s amazing run in 2011, the team started out winning only 2 of their first 7 games. Many annalists said it was just a Stanley Cup hangover, but some Bostonians were worried about the team vanishing as quickly as they appeared. Thanks to the best goaltending in the league, and an explosive offense the team won the next 14 out of 15 games, turning the skeptics into believers once again.

The statistics for the current Bruins team are some of the most dominate stats the league has ever seen. The dual goalie threat of Tim Tomas, and Tuukka Rask has made it almost impossible for opposing teams to score. Both men are in the top 5 for goals against, and number 1 and 2 in save percentage. Their success has lead to the team having the best plus/minus statistics in the league, and has freed up the offense to attack the opposition with more force.

It is rare that a team allows the least goals against, and also scores more than anyone in the league. So far the Bruins have done just that. Players like, Tyler Seguin, and Zdeno Chara accompany two other Bruins ranked in the top 5 of the plus/minus category. With the outstanding work that the goaltenders have put in, it seems like this team is gearing up for another run deep into the playoffs, and many people have them favored to win the cup for the second season in a row.
