American Idiot Broadway Show in Boston
Be the first to witness American musicals taken to new horizons. Watch American Idiot at the Boston Opera House. The popular music album has been transformed into a smash hit musical telling a story about friends forced to choose between their dreams and the safety of suburbia
American Idiot is an energy filled rock opera. It has little dialogue and depends heavily on the lyrics of Green Day’s album to drive the storyline. The material is dark and some of the characters hit rock bottom, but the stimulating scores keep things upbeat. It is said to be thrilling and emotionally charged. It’s only around for a short period time so be sure to buy a ticket.
The musical follows a journey of a new generation of young Americans. Three friends struggle to find meaning in a post 9/11 world. The three men flee suburbia for the thrills of the city life; their paths are quickly disenchanted when one enters the armed forces, one is called back home for familial responsibilities, and one’s attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest. Through the story line you will recognize every song from the “American Idiot,” cd and a few songs from the follow up cd.
