The Boston Marathon 2011 is an event that speaks to the hearts of runners from all points on the globe. It's a celebration of the raw talent developed through physical strength and endurance. Each year at the Boston Marathon, over 20,000 runners qualify and compete. Although, the herd of runners is massive, the Boston Marathon is no easy jog.
The journey of the Boston Marathon 2011 begins on Main Street in rural Hopkington, Massachusetts and stretches for 26.2 miles to its end point near John Hancock Tower in Copley Square. You'll notice as a spectator that due to the mass amount of runners, they are released in waves after the first shot.
To grab the best view of the runners at the Boston Marathon 2011, catch them at the starting point and the ending point. Looking for a place to drop you right in the action? Stay at the Hilton Boston Back Bay. It's cosmopolitan, but cozy and situates you right around the corner from Copley Square. Don't forget to avoid crazy traffic and road closures by taking advantage of public transportation. There are shuttles that drop spectators in the center of Hopkington, so you can catch the start.
